Cordova Chapter ASFA
The Cordova Chapter ASFA carries out its mission through a variety of operational and community-based programs, including:
- Emergency response to fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous conditions
- Fire prevention and public education initiatives, including school visits and community outreach
- Ongoing firefighter and EMS training programs, including Firefighter I and EMT 1 certification and continuing education
- Participation in interagency operations with partners such as the United States Forest Service, U.S. Coast Guard, and Alaska Wildlife Troopers.
- Equipment and apparatus maintenance and readiness programs
- Community risk reduction efforts, including seasonal safety campaigns, hydrant awareness, professional development, youth programs and scholarships.
These activities ensure that our personnel remain trained, equipped, and prepared to respond to emergencies while also working proactively to reduce risk within the community.
